The Land in Transition: Map of My Kingdom in Morris, Illinois
Map of My Kingdom, a one-woman play by award-winning writer Mary Swander, will be performed in Morris, Illinois Wednesday, September 2, 2026 as part of the Peoples Company Fall Seminar.
Map of My Kingdom spotlights the emotional and financial challenges families face during farmland transition. In 2014, Swander, an author with a national and international reputation, was commissioned to write the play by Practical Farmers of Iowa. The play has toured from coast to coast, from the Federal Reserve Bank in Chicago to New York University, from Mayo Clinic to Clackamas Community College near Portland, Oregon.
Actor Stacy Brothers will be featured in the show in Illinois. 
The performance will be part of the Peoples Company Fall Seminar held at Jennifer’s Garden, 555 Gore Road, Morris, Illinois. The seminar begins at 11 am on Wednesday, Sept. 2, and features speakers Dan Basse and Eric Snodgrass.  Lunch will be served.
The play is scheduled for 2:30 pm. Following the performance, a panel from Peoples Company will answer questions related to issues from the play.
