The AgArts Field Day will be hosted this year by Dean and Denise Biechler at their beautiful farm and Loya’s Little House Bed and B & B near Ames – a model of land stewardship.
Come experience the ways in which the arts play a vital role in imagining and promoting healthy food systems. Spend an afternoon with us enjoying the beauty of the Skunk River Valley. Surround yourself with the art work of Dean Biechler and other accomplished visual artists who engage with agriculture and the natural world. Hike the trails, get to know the prairie, and play a rousing game of croquet on the lawn with your kids.
Chef Donna Prizgintas will prepare a main dish for lunch and participants will bring potluck side dishes. Don’t miss a dazzling, fun-filled, family friendly Farm-to-Fork-Tales performance of PFI members telling their own stories of food and farming. Then enjoy an additional performance of Mary Swander’s Map of my Kingdom.
